It was such lovely weather today! Wakana, Sim and me were supposed go for a little breakfast picnic at Place de l'Europe, but we never got up in time! Especially since I'd slept at 6 am! Hehe. But we got up in time to go to Cine Club at Amy's, where it was nice catching up with everyone and hearing about their spring break stories. We even watched Les Inconnus, they're a comedy trio and their parodies were hilarious!! Anyway, I was sleepy and I headed back home for a siesta....but not before watching the Barbapapa cartoon!! Hehehe. I met up with Simar later on in the afternoon to get something sorted out at France Telecom, and then we headed to Book in Bar to meet Joanna, Layne and Waki. There was a poetry reading this afternoon by an American poet who lives in France. His poetry was accompanied by his friend on the harmonica and the guitar, and the words along with the lilt and beat of the music made for a pleasant evening! There is only short poem that I can now recall -

Il n'ya pas de quoi a rire
Wake up laughing....
Or don't wake up at all.

Too bad I had to leave early! But I had to meet Carly to watch the movie I'd been dying to watch ever since I saw the video of the soundtrack - Brice de Nice!!! Well, its a crazy movie, and it has some hilarious dialogues and scenes, but its quite silly overall. But I love the dialogues, and after the movie Carly and I just kept shouting out with the appropriate handmovements 'Casse, Casse, c'est la Casse de Brice' or 'Contrecasse!' or 'Ca farte?'. Hehehe. Anyway, headed to Aunty Lou's for dinner, but they were having a soiree, so after some free wine, we went to the Chinese place for dinner. After dinner, I went over to Carly's to have some of her yummy cake! Chatted with her and Rebecca, and then came back to watch Sex & the City in French on M6, hehehe. 2 hours of Sex & the City, and then I was up chatting with Waki and she was tickling my hair....I SOOO want to be a cat, really!! ;)

And now the crazy Brice song is on TV again, ohmigod, the songs tooo cool, here are some of the crazy lyrics, but you have to hear it and SEE it with the Brice outfit, hairdo and the Casse movements!!

J'm'appelle Brice, j' viens de Nice,
J'suis surfeur, winner, ascendant snowboarder,

Be nice, with Brice!

You know you're in France when....

You know you're in France when....your CROUS ticket for a Mozart Concert says the venue is Opera Berlioz, whens its actually Opera de la Comedie!! And you know you've become a true Montpellierien when you actually figure out the mistake on your ticket!! :) Hehe, thank god Cristina and I decided to go early because after 20 minutes of frantic searching around Corum and finding noone but other equally lost students, it struck me that the concert might be at Comedie....and so it was!!
We reached just in time, a few minutes before the Orchestre National de Montpellier began its Mozart performance. They played beautifully! I know very little about western classical music, but I closed my eyes for a bit to let the melodious harmony of the instruments sink in, and then I would try to focus on each instrument separately to appreciate its individual music. It was my first time in the Opera de la Comedie - its a few centuries old and its very pretty inside - so I was admiring the decors, the chandelier, des tableaux et des loges etc. and I was racking my brains to remember as much as I could about its architecture, which we studied briefly last month in Theatre class.

Earlier in the afternoon I'd had a fun Theatre TD, and it was my turn to perform with Chelsea and Kate in the second scene from Eugene Durif's 'Ni Une Ni Deux' which went off quite well. We're doing 'theatre d'absurde', so none of the words or dialogues make any sense and we all act clowny and ridiculous, but its never enough for M. Saccard who keeps emphasizing 'Plus folle!!', insisting we act even more loony. Hehe, guess his advice rubbed off on the rest of my day cuz I've been acting like a dement!

Went shopping at Mango with Simar today.....why are most of the pretty clothes either not the right size and fit or just not the right price? Hehe.

Sooo I just found out today that my Histoire d'Economie Politique exam which was supposed to be in May is now in a weeks time!! And noone was sure of what was going on...neither the professor or the Secretariat! And they also decided to change the format of the exam....except....noone knows what the new format is either! Sigh....and now I will have to cut short my weekend in Marseilles *sob**sob*

Anyway, had a fun evening. Waki and I went shopping for a while, and then we met up with Farrell to decide on our next cooking group project....we're going to make chevre chaud salad, mousse au chocolat and souffle. Except its going to be apricot souffle and sigh, I'm not a big fruity fan!! I also seem to be watching a lot of movies recently...Carly asked me to come watch Hitch with her. It was in French, and it was hilarious - Hitch: Expert en Seduction! A good change from all the heavy, serious films I've been watching :)

I just heard some really shocking news tonight....and thanks for being there Simar and Shivan!

Aurelie came over to say bye cuz she’s leaving tomorrow to start her internship at Narbonne! I can’t believe she’s actually going away…how quickly time flies…soon it’ll be time for me to leave Montpellier too! Ouinnn! Anyway, we’ll visit her sometime, Narbonne isn’t too far, and she’ll come to Montpellier on weekends as well.
Soon after she left, I went with Layne, Carly, Joanna to see ‘Va, vis et deviens’ since I’d heard it was a good film and had been shown at the Berlin film festival. And the film was brilliant, very moving , with a great story line and acting. I highly recommend watching it! After the heavy film, Carly took us for a heavy dinner at Auntie Lou’s – a small, cosy British restaurant on Rue de la Fontaine. The owner is English herself and so friendly. And I loved the music she had on…. I got quite nostalgic while hearing the Beatles’ early love songs - like ‘Please Please Me’ and ‘Sha la la’. It was nice to hear these songs after so long, and Carly and I couldn’t help singing along. For dinner, I had a Ruby Murray and some delumpcious treacle pudding! Carly and I had also ordered Bloody Marys…it was her first one and she didn’t like it so I ended up having hers as well. And since we’d asked for extra vodka....I got a lil woozy by the end of it, hehe!
So after dinner, while the other three went to do sheesha at Café Mektoub, I went back home to rest for a bit and get rid of my ‘ivresse’. I drank some hot tea and I started watching this bizarre French film about this girl who kept giving electric shocks to people after a traumatic experience of losing her best friend…it was so ridiculous!! Later on, I met up with Joanna, Layne, Carly at Mektoub. Mohammad was there of course, being his usual friendly clowny self. We then headed over to IDEM for some dancing...I just wanted to let my hair down!! But the others were tired, and since it was early (midnight) when we arrived, it was quite dead inside. So after smoking and hanging out for a bit, we decided to leave…on our way out we met Mary Ann and Jessie. I went over to Layne and Joannas for a bit before coming back to my apartment, after which I just wasted a whole lot of time doing nothing much as usual...and still dint get to bed before 4 a.m.!
